The Right Dose
While you are taking ULTRAM ER, be sure to tell your doctor if you are experiencing pain. Over time, your doctor may increase or decrease your dosage, as needed. As with any prescription medication, you may experience side effects when taking ULTRAM ER.
Experiencing breakthrough pain?
ULTRAM ER is designed for adult patients who require around–the–clock treatment of their chronic pain for an extended period of time. Here are a few things to do if you are still experiencing moments of pain every now and then – or "breakthrough" pain:
- Talk to your doctor about finding a dose strength of ULTRAM ER that's right for you and your specific type of pain.
- Keep track of any breakthrough pain episodes, and tell your doctor what you were doing and when these episodes occurred.
- If needed, your doctor may prescribe additional medication or recommend exercisesto help manage episodes of breakthrough pain.
Listen to your doctor.
For ULTRAM ER to relieve your chronic pain, you should continue taking ULTRAM ER once daily as prescribed. Do not adjust your ULTRAM ER dosage, unless directed by your doctor. Talk to your doctor about how you feel throughout your therapy. As with any prescription medication, be sure to follow your doctor's instructions.
